We have a very special story for you this Sunday.

John Faherty, one of our award-winning storytellers, spent the school year with a group of boys at Moeller High School who have lost one or both parents. This is the story of one of the most hellish kinds of grief. But it is also the story of tremendous strength. It is about the rich meaning of the most ordinary moments in our lives. It is the story of the bond between parent and child but also of the importance of the village that raises our children.

I first read it sitting in my back yard, quiet and peaceful. And I couldn't help it; I cried for these young men who have lost what it means to be a boy. But it also made me intensely proud of them, and the Greater Cincinnatians who came together to help them and many others like them. If their story moves you to want to help, too, we'll tell you how.

In the video below John Faherty will introduce you to his story. I hope you will spend a little time Sunday with the video storytelling at Cincinnati.com and with the special section in Sunday's paper.
